Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced GIS Developer with strong expertise in Angular and modern web GIS technologies. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in developing geospatial web applications, integrating GIS services, and building interactive mapping solutions. This role requires strong frontend development skills, a solid understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data, and map services, along with the ability to deliver scalable and high-performance GIS applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain GIS-based web applications using Angular.
• Build responsive and interactive map-based user interfaces with a focus on performance and usability.
• Integrate GIS services, including map services, feature services, geocoding, routing, and spatial analysis into web applications.
• Consume REST APIs and GIS web services to display and manipulate spatial data.
• Develop reusable Angular components, modules, and services following best practices.
• Work with spatial databases and geospatial datasets to support business requirements.
• Implement map editing, querying, filtering, spatial search, and data visualization functionalities.
• Optimize application performance for rendering large geospatial datasets.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts, business users, backend developers, and UI/UX teams to deliver scalable GIS solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application and GIS integration issues.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development best practices.
• Support application deployment, maintenance, and production issue resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

Frontend Development

• Strong experience with Angular (v19 or later).
• Proficiency in:
  • TypeScript
  • JavaScript (ES6+)
  • HTML5
  • CSS3 / SCSS
• Experience with:
  • RxJS
  • Angular Material
  • Responsive Web Design
• Strong understanding of component-based architecture and state management.

GIS Technologies

• Hands-on experience in GIS web application development.
• Experience with GIS platforms such as:
  • ArcGIS API for JavaScript
  • OpenLayers
  • Leaflet
  • Mapbox GL JS
• Knowledge of spatial data formats, including:
  • GeoJSON
  • Shapefile
  • KML
  • WMS
  • WFS
  • WMTS
• Experience consuming GIS REST APIs and map services.
• Understanding of:
  • Coordinate systems
  • Map projections
  • Spatial indexing
  • Geospatial analysis

Backend & Database

• Experience integrating RESTful APIs.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in:
  • PostgreSQL/PostGIS
  • SQL Server Spatial
  • Oracle Spatial
  • Other spatial databases
• Familiarity with backend technologies such as:
  • Node.js
  • .NET
  • Java
  • Python (preferred)

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience with Git-based version control.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or Portal for ArcGIS.
• Knowledge of WebGL-based mapping frameworks.
• Experience with real-time GIS data integration and visualization.
• Familiarity with geoprocessing services and spatial analytics.
• Experience working with satellite imagery, raster datasets, or LiDAR data.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, SAML, or JWT.
