Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Consultant – Varicent with strong expertise in manual testing, Varicent applications, SQL, and enterprise application testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring application quality across functional, regression, integration, and production-support activities while collaborating with development, product, business, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute manual testing activities for enterprise applications and Varicent solutions.
- Analyze business and functional requirements and develop comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Design, execute, and maintain functional and regression test suites.
- Perform System Integration Testing (SIT) and validate end-to-end business processes.
- Prepare and manage test data for application releases, business-plan transitions, and major system changes.
- Perform SQL/MySQL-based data validation and investigate data discrepancies.
- Identify, document, track, and triage defects in collaboration with development and product teams.
- Participate in requirement and design reviews and provide QA recommendations.
- Support application releases, annual/business-plan transitions, and production rollouts.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide post-production support.
- Analyze recurring production issues and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
- Prepare QA status reports and communicate testing progress and risks to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and conduct knowledge-transfer and training sessions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing processes, application reliability, and product quality.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in software QA, testing, or enterprise application testing.
- Strong hands-on experience in manual testing.
- Experience with Varicent applications, preferably Varicent v10.
- Strong understanding of functional testing, regression testing, and SIT/integration testing.
- Expertise in test scenario design, test case preparation, test execution, and defect management.
- Hands-on experience with SQL/MySQL and data validation.
- Experience in Varicent application testing, configuration, and validation.
- Knowledge of business-plan/annual transition testing and payout reports.
- Experience in production and post-production support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Anaplan.
- Varicent v10 certification.
- Anaplan L1/L2 certification.
- Experience in Varicent demo/model development.
- Knowledge of code analysis and build configuration.
- Experience mentoring QA teams and conducting new-hire training.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft tools.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
- Ability to manage multiple testing priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
