Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced IBM Sterling Integrator / EDI professional to manage day-to-day EDI operations, production support, new partner implementations, and continuous improvement of EDI integrations. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Integrator, EDI, SAP IDocs, and data mapping, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external trading partners.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support EDI integrations using IBM Sterling Integrator, including data mapping, mailbox setup, communication protocols, and partner onboarding.
  • Support key EDI transaction sets including PO, POC, ASN, and INV, and manage implementation guides received from trading partners.
  • Monitor EDI and SAP integration processes, including SAP IDoc processing, failures, and system health.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, resolve helpdesk tickets, and coordinate with SAP functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing, partner certification, validation, and internal sign-off for new or enhanced integrations.
  • Work closely with business users, trading partners, and IT teams to understand requirements and define EDI mapping and communication needs.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation and optimization opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support standardization of EDI processes and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4–8 years of experience working with EDI systems, preferably with IBM Sterling Integrator.
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and EDI operations.
  • Strong expertise in EDI data mapping.
  • Good understanding of EDI standards including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.
  • Experience with EDI transaction sets such as 850, 855, 860, 856, 810, 940, 945, 204, 214, ORDERS, DESADV, and INVOIC.
  • Hands-on experience with Sterling B2B Integrator Mapper, VANs, ISPs, and Internet security packages.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP IDocs.
  • Working knowledge of EDI translation software.
  • Recommended knowledge of XML, Sterling B2B Integrator Administration, and Sterling B2B BPO Language.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with new trading partner onboarding and EDI implementation.
  • Experience supporting complex Sterling Integrator and SAP integration scenarios.
  • Knowledge of automation and EDI process optimization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
